Dear all,
I have to catch up since Saturday, so again a lot to tell you today. Let’s start with Saturday, the plan was to go to Meadowhall. I went there with Ceren, Lukas, Matthieu, Abiguelle and Anne-Nary, so me and the French. I had to find a tie, as Lukas celebrates his birthday tomorrow and he wants to go to a party on Wednesday where we are all going to wear a blouse and tie. As I am not really fond of ties, this was the first tie I bought in my life. I bought another new blouse as well and this is the result:
I was really tired afterwards and decided to stay at home with Kelly and watch a movie, instead of joining the French to a bbq. Sunday was a bit boring as I was just at home, read my book and watched the Tour de France online, with at the same time the commentary of Radio 1. It was a bit problematic in the beginning as I could not find any site that granted me access to their live videostream, as there is no official British broadcaster through the internet, but a small request on Twitter gave me the answer. A stranger from Amsterdam helped me out, thank you!
I had a bit too much coffee during Sundayevening (sounds familiar, as my Dad has this sometimes) so it became a hell of a night. I started with playing some sudoku, to get sleepy, but that did not work. My eyes got tired, though my brain was busy as a highway. I decided to let the music playing till I would fall asleep, but that did not work either. I began to sing with some songs and Lukas reminded me today that he heard it… finally I fell asleep around 2 am.
Today, I had to do some work for Katja again, on the Terrorism and the Rule of Law project. I did some final research on the Organization of American States, though their website is a horror, as most websites of international organizations. I finally found most documents I needed and finished around 2 pm. I saw that the rain finally stopped outside and it was time for my delayed run, as I did not run on Sunday because my back hurt.
It was lovely weather and the rain was again dripping of the leaves. It was time for a similar, though a bit different route, to let my legs still get used to the hills and to increase my training distance at the same time. In the beginning, I still felt my back and that was pretty horrible. Though, as it always goes with a good run, the further I got, the better it went. I took a new path, though it was totally overgrown and I had to make a shortcut over a meadow.
Back in the city, I felt like flying and showed everyone how good runners from Loopgroep Bunnik are…. All the way in Sheffield I wore my runningshirt with proud and there were actually some people that were staring at me….
I do not know what I met during my run, but when I came back home, I had a little wound on my leg. But that is part of the risk and it was dry already when I saw it. The shower did not reopen it, so it is fine for me. I have some extra kilometers that I could add to the Summer Challenge. 12.65 km in more or less an hour combined in a hill workout with some interval training is a result that satisfies me.
Tomorrow it is time for Lukas birthday and time to finish the work I have to do for Katja for this week. It is also almost time that Wouter is coming over. So I have a nice schedule, not to busy, but sufficient things to work on and to look forward at!
Steven
