Running to Embrace…

Author: steven | Filed under: Sheffield, hardlopen

Dear all,

It kept on raining yesterday, on and on and on. It rained cats and dogs, so the rabbits, squirrels found a safe place and did not show themselves… But the poring rain stopped at the end of the afternoon and made my first training round possible.

It was a bit cooler and really quiet outside. It was amazing to have a whole park for myself. The water dripped from the leaves, the muddy ground was wet and soft, but not slippery and ran better than most tracks. It was the perfect moment for an interval-training combined with a hill workout. The average distance of the quicker parts was between 300-500 m. It was wonderful to fly through these quiet areas again.

Through the park, following the small stream, a tough climb and I was back in the city. I made some extra rounds and turns and my legs felt better and better. At the end of the long climb waited Manchester Road to guide me down and it was relaxed only downhill back home. It is good to be back here and my old shoes assisted me better then I expected!

After the run was it time for some daily shopping and a pizza party with Moises, as he left for Cambridge and Istanbul. It was party time and we went to the Embrace, picked by Ceren and Flora, as they played RnB. It was a strange place and I felt more like a pimp in a brothel…, not only because of the strange behaviour of some of the other people in the club, as well because of the strange entourage. Nothing strange happened to us, so it was a great night out and it is always funny to have some people walking around that make you laugh.

I woke up early today and felt really good! I am still busy with my weekly puzzle and we are going to shop this afternoon at Meadowhall.

Cheers!

Steven
