Dear all,
The sun shines not on the horizon any more, it shines from straight above. The end of summertime ensures us that summer is really over and that we have to prepare for winter. A dark period without sunshine. On the other hand, my body told me today and yesterday that I have to prepare for a warm and happy period. No, not a period in a hot tub, or sitting in front of the fire place.
Yesterdays terrible rainy weather was the stage for the Nike+ Human Race. Armed with my shoes (who gathered dust during the last two months), my Nike+ Sportband, a plastic Nike bag, the Human Race Running Shirt and a white glove.

This event was my first run in two months and I did not feel really well before the start. We started to collect some garbage at the Mariaplaats and then we followed the Singel. It was a real fun run, as everybody stopped to grab an empty beer can, a piece of plastic, et cetera and went on afterwards. It gave a great group feeling and it was funny to see the reactions of the shopping public that did not expect us. (And I think that they saw us as a great replacement of all the squatters that demonstrated in Utrecht at the same moment.)
It went very good, and I quitted after 1 round of approximately 5.5 km, though I was not sure whether it was really ok, or whether it was the result of the Diclofenac I took before, to ease the pain. So I had to wait till later to see the real result. And…
I still felt good during the night, I slept well, got up and… decided to join my parents and Maarten to the Posbank for a nice Sunday walk. The weather was ok, though not as good as we expected, but the trees were beautiful, especially combined with the autumn sunshine and the mushrooms. You can see some great pictures on my Flickr.
